An excerpt from my book, The Making of a Model, Chapter 5
IT WAS EARLY MORNING in the city of Jerusalem. Except for the bleating of sheep and the occasional cry of a hungry baby, the city lay quiet in the dawn’s freshness. The day gave no hint to the tumultuous events that had taken place just two days before.
Golgotha, better known as Calvary, was a rock quarry servicing the city of Jerusalem. Although no doubt abandoned by the time of Jesus’ crucifixion, it was there God’s Son gave His life as a living sacrifice for sin. It was there eternal life became available to all, and it was there two thieves, crucified with Him, decided whether paradise was for them an empty dream … or a last-hour, life-altering promise.
